Aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are planning to dump the party before the electioneering campaigns for the 2019 general elections begin.

Most of the aggrieved members belong to the now defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) bloc within the party.

The members met on Saturday in Abuja where the decision to dump the party was taking.

It was gathered that the meeting was not restricted to the members of the nPDP block in the APC alone as other ‘like-minds’ also attended.

A statement on Saturday by the chairman of the nPDP,  Kawu Baraje, said the meeting was called to intimate members on the outcome of an earlier meeting with the leadership of the APC.

Baraje listed the names of those in the defunct nPDP and others top APC chieftains, especially members of the National Assembly, who attended the Abuja meeting.

“The meeting was well attended by members of the nPDP, including serving and former governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, and other aggrieved APC stakeholders.

“Those who attended the meeting included President of the Senate, Sen. Bukola Saraki; Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal; Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso; Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Murtala Nyako ; Sen. Mohammad Aliero, Senator Danjuma Goje, Sen. John Enoh, Senator Andy Uba, Sen. Ibrahim Gobir, Sen. Rufai Ibrahim and Sen. Ibrahim Danbaba.

It was further learnt that those in attendance agreed that they should leave the party if no concrete action is taken to address their grievances.

Baraje and other members of the nPDP on Monday met with APC leaders over allegation of marginalization.

However, some members within the group felt it was better to remain within and fight it out through further discussions and negotiations.
