Martin Luther Jnr's Family Denies Giving Buhari Award
President Muhammadu Buhari may have received an award from mysterious persons.
Few days ago, the Presidency in Nigeria said President Buhari received an award from members of Martin Luther Jnr's family, but that may just be a lie.
It appears that Nigerians are in for another drama that may force opposition parties to call the award staged-managed.
The King Centre, which is the official living memorial to Martin luther King, on Wednesday dismissed claims that members of the prominent African American gave President Buhari an award.
In A tweet the King Centre wrote: "The award given to President Buhari of Nigeria was not given by The King Center, at the request of The King Center or by the children of Matin Luther King and #CorettaScottKing.".
Reactions have already started trailing the statement on Twitter and many of them are so funny.
An ally of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Reno Omokri was among the first to tweet about it.
Dear Nigerians, please note that this award given to @GEJonathan is GENUINE unlike the fake award given to @MBuhari by a fake group purporting to be from the @TheKingCenter and to be representing the Martin Luther King Jr’s family! pic.twitter.com/EAuUvfIHnG— Reno Omokri (@renoomokri) March 28, 2018
