Marcelo has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Real Madrid till 2022.

The 29-year-old has been with Madrid for 11 years.

"Real Madrid and Marcelo have agreed to extend the contract of the player, who will remain tied to the club until June 30, 2022," the club said in a statement.

The Brazilian has made 400 appearances since joining Real Madrid in 2006 from Fluminense.

He has won three UEFA Champions League and four La Liga titles.

However, the left back will be suspended for Madrid's next two La Liga games after his ban for being sent off for a kick at Jefferson Lerma in Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Levante. This was also confirmed on Wednesday.
