Man Utd 2-2 Arsenal: We Drew But We Scored All The Goals – Mourinho
Jose Mourinho still maintains the bragging right of not losing to Arsenal at Old Trafford in as many matches following Wednesday’s 2-2 draw.
Shkodran Mustafi had given the visitors the lead after a costly error from David de Gea before Anthony Martial then leveled the scores before half-time.
Marcos Rojo turned into his own net after a scramble with Alexandre Lacazette but a minute later Jesse Lingard was on hand to equalise.
After the game, Mourinho told the BBC that United shot themselves in the foot by too many errors.
“We drew 2-2, but we scored four goals, and even when we play well we always shoot ourselves.
“Reality is, in last four matches we didn’t lose. Bad results yes, but we didn’t lose."
“We shoot ourselves so many times during the season,” Mourinho added.
“Big soul by the players, fantastic attitude from the first minute.
“Some good performances, some players in difficulty, Dalot, Rojo, Darmian, Bailly, Smalling - the boys left their souls.
“We should win the game. We made two big mistakes for the goals.
“The second goal comes in an awful moment when the team was on top of the game.”
