Sani Idris is aged 40. He hails from Maska village in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.

He has been accused of hypnotising women and sexually assaulting them against their conscious will.

He was said to have lied to his victims that their husbands were wizards and members of a occult.

It was gathered that Idris prepared some concoction for his victims before having sex with them.

Idris was apprehended after one of his victims related her experience to her husband.

Maimunatu, 19, told her husband, Muntari Samaila how Idris phoned her with number, 08148122935, asking her to come down to his house.

She said on getting to his house, Idris told her that her husband was a wizard and that he would help her to tackle him.

The accused was said to have thereafter prepared some concoction for Maimunatu to drink to abort her one month pregnancy after which he recited some incantations.

Idris subsequently had sex with Maimunatu and warned her not to tell anyone.

Maimunatu, however, reported the matter to her husband, who later informed the police.

Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to have committed the offence and further said he had done the same thing to about six other women.

The accused is facing charges of rape and ‘attempt to commit an offence while causing miscarriage’, which police said, are contrary to section 283 and 95 of the Penal Code.
Justice Abdulkareem Umar of the Katsina Senior Magistrate Cour has remanded Idris in prison and adjourned the case till July 24, 2017.
