Man Reports ‘Wicked Wife’ For Inflicting Injury On House Help
He is not in support of his wife’s bad attitude, and he does not hide it.
Perhaps after several cautions, she has refused to change to a better person.
What else will he do? He then thought it wise to report his wife to the authorities.
A mother of three, Mrs. Ijeoma Catherine beat her 10-year old house help, Mmasinachi Okemini blue and black, inflicting various degrees of injuries on her.
Her husband, Mr. Anyigor, has now reported his wife’s inhuman act to Child Protection Network, Ebonyi State to exonerate himself from the evil act of his wife.
Mr. Anyigor, who said that the victim was an orphan and a daughter to his elder brother who died mysteriously, noted that the girl’s mother also died in close succession.
He appealed for immediate rescue of the child before she dies in the hands of his ‘wicked wife’.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator, Ebonyi State Chapter, Child Protection Network, Mrs. Flora Egwu and her team visited the home of Mr. Anyigor located at Mbuokobe, Abakaliki following the report of the incident.
On interrogation, Mrs. Ijeoma Anyigor admitted that she battered Mmasinachi with electric wire because she steals and lures her children into committing immoral act whenever she is away from home, adding that she had been warning her, but she has refused to learn her lesson.
Mrs. Flora Egwu described the incident as an act of a heartlessness, noting that caregivers should know that those children they regard as house helps were created by God like their biological children.
According to her, they were going to account for whatever treatment they meted out to such children and that government has the responsibility to protect the right of any child, and the child protection Network, Ebonyi State was ready to fight child abuse and exploitation.
She concluded that Mmasinachi must be treated and taken back to her original home where arrangement would be made to give her adequate care.
