Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ahmed Makarfi and members of the committee are currently meeting with aspirants for the party’s national chairmanship position.

The meeting became necessary following intelligence reports said to have been received by the party that some aspirants were planning to take the party to court before the convention.

The national convention is scheduled to hold in Abuja on December 9, where national officers are to be elected.

The meeting is expected to agree on a code of conduct for the aspirants.

Aspirants present at the meeting are former PDP Deputy National Chairman, Olabode George, former Lagos PDP governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje, former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja and media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi.

Others are immediate past Deputy National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Gbenga Daniel, former governors of Oyo and Ogun states, respectively.
