Transfer reports ahead of the Winter Window suggest that Algerian and Leicester City playmaker, Riyad Mahrez could be teaming up with Alex Iwobi at Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspurs are also understood to be willing to take on the Algerian who was widely touted for a Summer move but failed to get the desired switch away from the Kings Power Stadium.

Roma made four separate bids for Mahrez during the last transfer window but City boss Craig Shakespeare repeatedly stressed that Mahrez would not be sold unless his valuation of about £45m was fully met.

The Mirror now suggests that Arsenal and Spurs will try their luck with a slightly smaller sum as the 26-year-old is desperate for a move away.

It is expected that Shakespeare will be less reluctant to offload Mahrez in January as the Foxes need recruits to bolster their squad in other areas of the field.
