Looting: PDP Chairman Gives Lai Mohammed 48hours To Retract Statement
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has given the Minister of Information and Culture 48 hours to withdraw his libelous statement against him or face litigation.
Secndus made this request in a letter through his lawyer, Emeka Etiaba, on Saturday.
Mohammed had accused Secondus of collecting 200 million Naira from the Office of the National Security Adviser under Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
But the letter from the lawyer said that Mohammed’s statement “has damaged the image of Secondus, as he has been humiliated, castigated and vilified by many as a result of the falsehood published by the minister".
Secondus is asking for, aside from retraction, an apology and 1.5 billion Naira, failing which he will sue the minister.
He said legal proceedings would commence in 72 hours if the minister failed to carry out the demands in the letter.
