Lokoja Bye Election: Thugs Fail In Bid To Hijack Election Materials
With the alarm raised by Dan Mayaki, one of the election observers in Karaworo polling unit Ward B, and C Lokoja, thugs attempting to snatch the electoral materials have been apprehended and handed over to the appropriate authorities.
Sequel to this awful development that can thwart the election process, all party agents and communities have been told to be vigilant and join hands with security operatives to drive out men with "White caps" and any person(s) perceived or seen as a threat to the peaceful electoral process of today.
Senator Smart Adeyemi was also caught sharing money and packaged gifts to induce voters during the voting process.
Recall that BOUNCE NEWS had earlier reported that the Kogi State INEC Commissioner, Professor James Apam said no unauthorised persons will be allowed around the polling unit.
Stiff penalties is to be melted out to whoever is caught perpetrating any form of violence in all the accredited polling units across the state.
These men said to be thugs in "white caps" were allegedly found with weapons and charms when Maiyaki raised the alarm as he has observed their sinister movement around the area.
Generally, the election process in all the polling units have been peaceful and orderly, although voters did not turn out early as announced to begin accreditation, but the exercise has so far been peaceful.
BOUNCE NEWS however observed that security agents in most of the polling units foiled the attempt of party agents to distribute money to the electorates in their polling units.
