Eight years after playing on South African soil during the 2010 World Cup, Lionel Messi was back on Wednesday, this time with his club Barcelona.

Barca took on PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nelson Mandela Centenary Cup at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

Asides Messi, the likes of Andres Iniesta and Ousmane Dembele all had the South African crowd on their feet!

Despite Messi starting from the bench, the supporters were treated to a fine showing of skill and professionalism from the star-studded Barca.

Though the game ended 3-1 in favour of Barca, it was certainly a night to remember for those South African supporters who made the effort to watch the game at the stadium.

It was a night that did not fail to live up to expectation.
