Lil Wayne To Drop ‘Tha Carter V’ On His Birthday
American rapper, Lil Wayne has confirmed that the anticipated album ‘Tha Carter V’ will be dropping on his birthday birthday – Friday, September 28.
The record is a direct follow-up to 2011’s ‘Tha Carter IV’, but it has been stuck for over 7 year.
He has now confirmed in a YouTube video that the long-awaited arrival of the album is close.
In the clip, he’s seen taking fans on a tour of his own studio, before finally dropping the great news.
“With this album, I’m giving you more than me”, he says in the video.
“This is years of work… that you’ll be listening to. I hope you enjoy it, you don’t have to love it, you don’t have to like it, but I hope you enjoy it.” he added.
One of the main reasons for the delay was the extensive legal battles with Cash Money records, after he sued Birdman for $51 million in order to be released from his contract.
Lil Wayne's last album ‘Free Weezy’ was released in 2015.
