The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has dismissed the appeal by former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Gabriel Daudu, against his conviction for N1.4 billion fraud.

The ex-legislator has been found guilty for money laundering and misappropriation of public funds at Federal High Court Lokoja.

Daudu was found guilty of 77 out of 208 counts he was facing.

Justice Inyang Ekwo sentenced him to a total of to 154 years imprisonment.

The sentences for the counts will run concurrently.

The judge held that the prosecution proved its case beyond every reasonable doubt, and therefore, sentenced Daudu to two years on each of the 77 counts to run concurrently.

Dissatisfied with his conviction, Daudu approached the appellate court praying that his conviction be set aside.
