Business activities were paralysed at the Ministry of Information and Culture, as protesting workers blocked the major road leading to its headquarters in Abuja.

The workers are calling for the sack of Lai Mohammed as a minister.

The workers, consisting staff of the two arms of the ministry- Information and Culture, were protesting the poor condition of service and the alleged high-handedness, and aloofness of the minister.

The workers are angry with Mohammed over non-payment of allowances and refusal to train staff.

The protesters, who chanted songs and blocked the gate of the ministry, also said they were subjected to work under poor conditions, in addition to the delay of promotion arrears.

The workers carried placards with different inscriptions urging President Buhari “to probe activities of the ministry under Mohammed"
Adam Ogwola who is the chairman of the Association of Senior Civil Servants, Information Chapter, who led Wednesday's protest described their working condition as unreceptive.
