They say there is usually at least one person left on your side when the entire world turns against you, but for Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, he seems to be on his own.

The words of Deputy Governor Idiat Adebule just shows that the battle for the soul of Lagos state at the APC governorship primaries on Tuesday has been won and lost.

Before her statement, news had been filtering in from different wards across Lagos of a landslide defeat of incumbent governor Ambode.

“As you can see, the people have spoken and voted in line with the dictates of the party. We have voted for the party.

“It’s an overwhelming experience, our people have voted and decided, and I am with them,” she told TVC on Tuesday.

Newsmen met with her at Ward A and D, in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State where she participated in the APC primaries.

When asked if she would support whoever emerges as the candidate of the party, her answer was without doubt.

“Of course, I will support him, but I have no doubt, as exhibited here by my people, that the people are with the party, and with the party’s position I stand,” she reaffirmed.

It is common knowledge what the party’s position is. They want a change and that change is Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
