Lagos Tanker Fire Leaves 54 Cars Burnt, Many Dead
Tales of sorrow, tears, fire and deaths are all that Lagos residents would be telling this evening of Thursday, June 28, 2018.
A fuel-laden tanker was heading towards Berger when it had a failed brake and exploded along the Otedola bridge.
The result is that tens of vehicles were engulfed in the inferno with many people heading from the day’s work trapped and burnt to death.
Reports have it that the driver of the tanker and one other person who was with him escaped.
An eye witness told Bounce News that he counted not less than 54 vehicles already burnt and with a lot of passengers burnt beyond recognition.
Men of the Lagos State Fire Service in conjunction with the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) have since put out the fire and are trying to bring the situation under control.
