Lagos Police Commissioner Not Giving Up On Ikorodu
For the umpteenth time, the Lagos Police Commissioner has told Ikorodu people that they have to work with the police if they want to keep enjoying the relative peace in Ikorodu and environs.
On Saturday, November 25, at the palace of the Ayanburen of Ikorodu, HRH Oba Kabiru Shotobi, he sought the collaboration of residents and community leaders.
He hinted that the only way to ensure that criminal elements are kept at bay is for the community to form vigilante groups that would partner the police to guard the neighborhoods.
They should also be responsible for questioning suspicious characters seen loitering at odd hours of the night especially between the hours of 1am and 4am.
He further stated that such persons being questioned must be able to explain where they were coming from and where they are going.
From the time he assumed office, his security ideology has been that of community policing and safety partnership as encouraged by the Inspector-General of Police.
At the conclusion of his address, the Oba of Ikorodu, his HRH Oba Kabiru shotobi thanked the CP and pledged the support of his people to the police.
They are the biggest winners if they can ensure that the peace already achieved in Ikorodu by the police is sustained.FOR MORE CRIME FEATURES, DOWNLOAD BOUNCE NEWS APP HERE
