The restriction has been extended by two hours. With the extension, there would be no vehicular movement between 7am and 3pm.

In a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, the government said the added time is to allow for a smooth conduct of the elections and unhindered participation.

Ayorinde said the government and security agencies will ensure the exercise is free and fair, while security levels will be raised.

He also urged residents to be peaceful and orderly in casting and protecting their votes.
