Lagos – Ibadan Expressway Crash Kills 1
One person has lost his life following a crash on the Lagos – Ibadan expressway on Wednesday.
One of the vehicles, a Merck truck was carrying the bonnet of a detached truck on it, while the other was a Scania truck carrying yam from Ekiti and heading to Lagos.
While on motion, the detached head suddenly fell off the back of the Merck truck, with the on-coming Scania truck crashing into it, causing the death of the driver.
According to an eye witness who spoke to Bounce News, the driver of the Scania truck died on the spot because of the impact of the collision.
Immediately, the driver of the Merck truck which caused the accident ran away with the number plate of the truck and the battery.
Confirming the incident, Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson of Ogun state Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corp said TRACE Corps is using this opportunity once again to implore drivers to avoid overspeeding and always ensure safety precaution standards are adopted whenever they're conveying objects & products which can expose other road users to dangers and risk.
