Former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja has reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party.

This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by  Anthony Agbetuyi, the Personal Assistant to the PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Elder Yemi Akinwonmi.

The statement said Ladoja made the commitment when Akinwonmi led other top members of the PDP to visit the former governor.

Ladoja was quoted: “I want to encourage our party members and all well wishers to remain steadfast and strong in this journey as we approach 2019 general election and deliver our people from the hand of the All Progressives Congress.”


The PDP National Vice Chairman (South West), Dr. Eddy Olafeso, was also on the entourage to pay homage to Ladoja at his Ondo Street, Bodija, Ibadan.

Other leaders in attendance were the Oyo State PDP Chairman, Kunmi Mustapha; Lagos State PDP Chairman, Moshood Adegoke Salvador; Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, Zonal Secretary (South West); Arewa Nike, Ex-Officio (South West); Senator Hamzat Ayo Adeseun; Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and Senator Kamorudeen Adedubu;

Others were Hon. Muraina Ajibola; Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli; Bayo Lawal; Dr. Saka Balogun; Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran; Hon. Bimbo Adepoju; Mukeso Destiny; and Emiola Wasii among other leaders.

Seyi Makinde was absent due to an official commitment in the United States of America.

There have been rumours that Ladoja was again planning to dump the PDP for another party.
