The national leadership of the Labour Party (LP) has suspended nine officials from the party.

Among those suspended were the party’s National Deputy Secretary, Barr. Julius Abure and Anambra State Deputy Chairman, Uche Ugwoji.

The LP National Chairman, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam in a statement, said the officers were suspended for misconduct, insubordination, gross indiscipline and anti-party activities.

Abdulsalam listed other officials suspended to include Rich Ejike Onuorah, Alex Osita Obi, Bertram Enukora, Ifeanyi Mbagwu, Greg Amarube, Pastor Longinus Nnajifor and Okecima Anizoba.

According to him, Abure, was suspended as he did not act in the interest of the party.

He restated that Luke Ezeanokwasa remained the Anambra State chairman of Labour Party and asked party members to accord him the respect and recognition demanded of the office.
