Labour Party National Chairman’s Mother Kidnapped
The aged mother of National Chairman of Labour Party, Mike Omotosho has been kidnapped.
She was abducted at about 6.30pm on Sunday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
It was gathered that a four-man gang had approached the Ilorin home of the LP leader and demanded to see his sister.
They subsequently arm twisted the security man and forced him to lead them into the main building where they abducted the old woman.
The gunmen were said to have made off with both the security man and the aged woman but later released the security guard.
The kidnappers, it was gathered are yet to contact Omotosho or any other member of the family.
Spokesman for the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the story.
He said the police had already swung into action over the issue and was already making progress.
“The commissioner of police has ordered every policeman to rise to the occasion and we are not leaving anything to chance”, he said.
Omotosho was recently elected as the Labour Party's new National Chairman. He was the party's governorship candidate in the 2015 governorship election in Kwara State.
