It was looking like Barcelona will do the unbeaten run for the season after they were able to hold their own against Real Madrid in the last El Clasico.

That however was not the case as Levante pulled a surprise upset; beating the Champions 5-4 in a tensely contested tie on Sunday.

The defeat has left a sour taste in the mouth of Barca coach, Ernesto Valverde who was hoping a phenomenal unbeaten run would have helped cover up for their Champions League disappointment.

“’We haven't been solid, every time they attacked they scored," Valverde stated as he reflected on the nine-goal thriller

"It's not normal for us to concede five goals.

"Levante have played well with freedom and we haven't been able to control them.

"We went to sleep, thinking we could automatically lift our performance in the second half" he aded.

The La Liga Champions will host Real Sociedad in their final La Liga game of the season and the celebration will not be as joyous as it would have been if they were able to look like Arsenal who went all through the season not losing to win the EPL title in the 2003/04 season.
