First it was Tekno, then Mr P, now Korede Bello has joined the list of music stars accused of intellectual property theft.

Dubie, former band leader of the Star Quest winning band, The Pulse, in a new interview, accused Mavin Record's Korede Bello of not seeking  permission before recording his latest single title 'Sote'.

The song shares the same title and melody as the band's version.

In April 2009, the now defunct music band, The Pulse won the then popular music TV reality show Star Quest after performing the song ‘Sote’, which ultimately helped them to win the competition.

The song, written by Dubie the band leader, became a hit, that caught the attention of American rapper, Busta Rhymes who featured in a remix of the song.

On May 7, 2018 , Mavin records recording artiste, Korede Bello, released a song titled ‘Sote’.

While both songs may not have the same message, what cannot be ignored are the obvious similarities in both tracks, including their title.

While The Pulse version’s of the song was a conscious message of hope, Korede’s version is a love song where he promises his lover many good things.
