King From Cross River Pledges Support For Buhari
A traditional ruler from Cross River State, His Royal Highness, Obol Ofem Ubana, has pledged the support of his community to the President Muhammadu Buhari's ''quest to rescue Nigeria".
Ubana led a delegation from Ugep Kingdom in the southern Nigeria state governed by a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the presidency on Tuesday.
In talks with President Buhari, the Obol Lopon of Ugep, who is a retired Army officer, requested that the Federal Government should intervene and resolve inter-ethnic conflicts, affecting several communities namely Nko, Nyima, Oyadama, Edibe, Usumtong, Adadama and Ekureku.
He expressed his clan's appreciation to the President for appointing Yakuur sons into exalted positions in government, including Chief of Naval Staff, Minister of Niger Delta and Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution.
On restiveness in the region, the Obol Lopon said: "We are increasingly losing our youths to inter-tribal wars which if nothing is done will leave our communities without youths in the near future.
''As Obolo Lopon of Ugep, I am ready to partner with relevant government agencies saddled with the responsibility and management of communal conflict resolutions".
Responding to the request, President Buhari assured the traditional ruler that no part of Nigeria would be ignored under his watch.
