Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will undergo a medical at FC Porto, if information coming from a relative is anything to go by.

The 20-year-old joined Arsenal in 2016 but he is yet to make a senior appearance for the Premier League side as he has been loaned out ever since.

Nwakali joined Dutch second division side MVV Maastricht in 2016-17, scoring two goals in 29 league outings, before heading to top-flight club VVV Venlo last term.

Arsenal's new manager, Unai Emery may not have the Nigerian in his plans for the upcoming season, and so has let him go for another loan spell to gain more experience.

Reports had suggested that he could be heading back to Holland with NAC Breda, however, his brother and agent Allwell Nwakali has confirmed he will link up with Porto.

“The news is not correct. Porto are processing his paperwork and any moment from now, maybe tomorrow or next, he will have his medical. He has nothing to do with NAC Breda.”
