Kano Records Suspected Monkeypox Case
After several rumours that the disease has spread to the north, one suspected case has been announced.
The Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Kabir Getso, notes that the blood sample of the patient has been sent to Abuja for clinical verification.
Getso said the suspected victim had been isolated and put under intensive clinical watch until the result of the sample is received.
“The state also identified 60 people who had contacts with the patient and all of them have been quarantined,” he said.
Residents in Kano have been advised not to panic but to report suspected cases to health authorities while maintaining high standards of personal and environmental hygiene.
