Kannywood Set To Revive Old Cinemas In Kano
The Hausa film industry is obviously determined to rival their counterparts in the rest of Nollywood in revenue and relevance.
Kannywood as they are called have woken up to the realization that they are losing so much revenue because of the lack of cinemas in the region.
Therefore, leaders of the industry have set up a committee mandated to revive all old cinemas in the northern part of Nigeria.
They started with the Ahlan Nd Marhaba Cinemas in Kano State, where they signed an agreement with the cinema’s management.
This is not one of those projects that take years to materialize.
The cinema has promised to show 10 films in ten days and the showing starts this coming Eid, June 16 2018.
Kano residents can start getting set for a new era of cinema culture.
