While Boko Haram ravage communities and attack soldiers in the northeast, bandits are renewing attacks on communities in the North-West region.

Several families in Ungwan Paa-Gwandara are mourning.

At least 14 persons were reportedly killed in the community by bandits on Sunday. The Chairman of the Local Government, Peter Averik, confirmed the attack to Channels Television.

He says the bandits on arrival to the community opened fire on residents at a wedding ceremony.

Everyone scampered for safety, as some got hit by bullets.  Mr Averik could not give the number of casualties, but eyewitnesses said women and children were among the dead.
