Bounce News also reports that APGA is also leading in 12 out of 21 local councils in Anambra.

APGA is the party of the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano - a party being looked to carry the day despite the massive voter apathy.

Some voters are waiting to secure the ballots cast and to hear the result

Earlier reports showed that the exercise was marred by low turnout of voters as only elderly women and men turned up for the exercise.

Bounce News editor, Ehizojie Okharedia who is monitoring the exercise in Anambra said most of the polling units visited in Aguata, Nnewi South, Umuchu, Orumba, Awka, Nibo, Awbu, Oko etc showed greater majority of voters are women and elderly men.

At a polling unit in Ezira area of Orumba South for instance, 60% of voters seen were women while most of the men were over 50 years old. The male youths completely abstained.

Ehizojie reports that the exercise has however been peaceful so far, but voter turnout has been largely poor and below expectation.

Some people spoken to believe the low turnout could be attributed to two factors - fear of violence and political apathy.
