There was mild drama within Nigeria's Red Chair legislative chambers on Wednesday.

It started when the Senate president, Bukola Saraki refused to recognise former Minority Leader, Goodswill Akpabio during plenary.

Akpabio stood up to contribute to ongoing discussions but was not given permission to do so by Saraki.

The Senate President accused Akpabio of seating in the wrong place there by losing the right to speak on matters on the floor.

House Leader, Lawan cut in and asked the Saraki to allow common sense prevail as there are no mandatory seats allotted to members of parliament.

It then became a free for all shout-out with several other lawmakers including Dino Melaye screaming opposing views at one another.

It was later agreed that the Chief Whip would assign names to seats ahead of further sessions within the chambers.
