JUST IN: Protesters Storm Court For Dino Melaye’s Trial
Protesters in their numbers on Thursday stormed the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja to declare support for senator Dino Melaye.
The protesters were see carrying various placards with different inscriptions on them.
One of the placards displayed by Coalition of Nigeria Youth Leaders reads – ‘Nigerian youth stand by Dino Melaye’.
The Senator representing Kogi West is being charged for allegedly providing false information of an assassination attempt.
The federal government, through the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, had filed a criminal charge against the Melaye for allegedly misinforming and misleading the police by reporting assassination attempts on his life.
Melaye, who personally collected his charge sheet on February 16, 2018, was pictured in court on Thursday, March 1, 2018, alongside senator Ben Murray-Bruce.
Outside the court, protesters were standing, while the session goes on.
