JUST IN: Police Service Commission Orders IGP To Reinstate Sacked 311 Officers
Some 311 newly recruited officers had recently been sacked from the Nigeria Police Force but the Police Service Commission has now ordered their reinstatement.
This is because, according to the commission, the move to sack the recruits is a violation of the provisions of the constitution of Nigeria.
The PSC also directed the IGP to dismiss with immediate effect the 201 recruits appointed to replace the sacked 311 recruits.
A statement by the commission reminds the police authorities that the authority to reinstate the 311 officers and reject the appointment of the 201 officers is derived from the constitution and the Police Service Commission Act of 2001.
The commission reached these decisions at the first plenary of its management held on September 26, 2018 and October 9 to 11, 2018.
