JUST IN: Police Lay Siege To Senator Dino Melaye's House
It’s from drama to drama for Senator Dino Melaye today, Monday, April 23, 2018.
After being arrested by men of the Nigeria Immigration Service after checking in for his journey to Morocco and released, policemen have again reappeared at his residence at No 11 Sangha Street, Maitama, Abuja.
Bounce News correspondent is live at the house and reports that the policemen arrived at about 1:25PM and have remained stationed all around the property.
His lawyer, Barr. Frank Tietie, spoke to journalists at the scene, describing the situation as an attempt to arrest the embattled senator.
He argued that this is being done without an arrest warrant and is therefore unconstitutional.
Meanwhile, IDPs from Kushingoro have also stormed the residence in solidarity with their man, Dino Melaye.
The way the sat on the floor outside the compound, they seem to be telling the police “you will arrest us together”.
The Senator had been put on wanted persons list by police in March over allegations that he aided thugs in Kogi State with arms, a case that is already in court.
