JUST IN: Police IG Orders Arrest Of Babangida's Aide
Former military president Ibrahim Babangida’s aide, Kassim Afegbua, my have got himself into trouble.
There was drama on Sunday over a statement released by Afegbua on behalf of Babangida, calling on president Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019.
Few hours later, the former Head of States was believed to have denied the statement and asked the public to disregard it.
But Afegbua again told the media his earlier press release stands and it was credible.
All this drama in less than 24 hours.
The inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris, is not finding any of these funny, so he has invited Afegbua to explain, according to The Nation. If he fails to show up within 24 hours, he will be arrested.
It was gathered from a source that Afegbua is wanted by the police for "issuing a fake press statement to the public."
