The 76th National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently in progress at the party’s national secretariat, Abuja.

The meeting which has governors, lawmakers and other party leaders in attendance is expected to take key decisions ahead of the national convention.

The will ratify December 9 as the date, agree on a venue and guidelines for the election.

The meeting started few minutes after the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national caretaker committee met with chairmanship aspirants at Wadata Plaza,  Abuja.

Three of the aspirants; Bode George, Professor Tunde Adeniran and Uche Secondus are in the NEC meeting.

Aside the PDP governors, other top members of the party at the meeting are Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, former governor of Kogi State,  Idris Wada, ex-Kano State governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, one-time Deputy Senate President, Senator Ibrahim Mantu, former Information Minister, Professor Jerry Gana and Former Minister of External Affairs, Tom Ikimi.

NEC is the second highest decision-making organ of the party, after the National Convention.
