There would most likely be an uproar and some rush at the head office of the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

The deadline set by the electoral umpire for political parties to submit forms for their presidential candidates expires at 4pm on Thursday.

A source told Bounce News that only 8 political parties have submitted names and completed forms for their candidates with an outstanding 80 yet to make any submission.

There are 89 registered and recognised political parties by the commission and the present figure seems rather shocking.

"We are still awaiting the submission of their forms. We cannot say when exactly they will come or if they will ever come.

"All we know is that they are yet to meet the deadline. Only 8 of 89 have submitted their presidential candidates forms so far", the source said.

When asked if there would be an extension or pardon for late comers the source declined to comment.

Unconfirmed reports suggest President Muhammudu Buhari (APC), Atiku Abubakar (PDP), Al Mustapha (PPN) and Donald Duke (SDP) areamong the 8 who have returned their forms.
