The Nigerian Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, and indeed all Nigerian workers are hoping that the battle to get 30,000-naira minimum wage is over, but that may not be the case just yet.

This is as state governors who are important stakeholders in the process have called a meeting over what to pay. 

Reports coming in say the governors, under the auspices of the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF have called for an emergency meeting where the issue of the minimum wage is expected to be discussed in Abuja tonight.

It is expected that the meeting, which will be presided over by the Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, will take a definite stand on the amount the governors will be able to pay as minimum wage to avert a strike by the organised labour.
