JUST IN: Military Saves The Day Following Boko Haram Attack In Adamawa
The military assisted by members of the vigilante group have repelled an attack by Boko Haram on Kaya village in Madagali local government area of Adamawa state.
The attackers who invaded the community at about 9:00 pm Monday night burnt down 13 houses before they were repelled by the combined force of the military and vigilantes.
The Adamawa state Commissioner of Information, Ahmad Sajoh who confirmed the attack said one Boko Haram member was killed and a vigilante member wounded. The wounded man has been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
Since the degrading of activities of insurgency in Adamawa state by the military, Madagali has continued to witness series of attacks on its communities where lives were lost and villages razed down by the invading insurgents believed to be after food items.
The Chairman of Madagali local government council, Mohammed Yusuf who also confirmed the attack appealed for the deployment of more security personnel especially now that farming activities are picking up but their farmers are being prevented by these pocket of attacks, or else the communities will be faced with the danger of starvation.
