Angola is the first country in 2019 to decriminalize gay sex.

Lawmakers in the country also passed a bill that bans discrimination based on sexual orientation in employment and said anyone refusing to employ or provide services to individuals based on their sexual orientation may face up to two years jail.

Also last year, India and Trinidad and Tobago decriminalized homosexuality, with the Indian Supreme Court ruling that the anti-gay British-era penal code was unconstitutional.

Countries like Lebanon, Tunisia, Singapore, Jamaica and Kenya also seem set to also decriminalize homosexuality this year.
