Nigeria's 'music video superstar-Senator', Dino Melaye, can now feel relieved wherever he is.  

This is because the Kogi State High Court has granted his bail application.

It is coming three weeks after he was arrested by the police at his residence in Abuja.

So much drama had followed that arrest. From jumping out of the police vehicle to going to court on a stretcher. 

Granting the bail, Justice Nasiru Ajanah said the application by the Senator representing Kogi West, Melaye, was granted on health grounds.

Attached to the grant as a clause was the sum 10 million Naira.

His lawyer had presented a medical report on his state of health since he jumped from the vehicle on April 24.

The Judge said the medical report was a merit factor to grant the bail application, but he is to also provide a surety in the like sum.

Senator Melaye's surety will also have to deposit his/her international passport with the court.

The hearing on the bail application happened on Wednesday, as scheduled on the on May 3. 

Melaye, who was brought to the court on the last sitting on a stretcher, is standing trail for allegedly arming a criminal gangs and convening a political rally that ended with the death of at least one attendee.

He has denied allegations that he provided arms and financial support to the criminals in a video and had insisted that he was being hunted because he was against the alleged impunity of the State governor, Yahaya Bello.
