President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

The meeting holding inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja is said to be discussing the latest attacks in Plateau State that left 86 people dead.

Recall that following the attack, President Buhari had called for calm while lamenting that human life was increasingly becoming cheap in Nigeria.

He had however heaped the blame on some unnamed politicians whom he accused of taking advantage of the killings associated with herdsmen/farmers clashes in parts of the country.

He said some “desperate people” have continued to pursue their quest for instability and chaos which they hope would give them an advantage in the coming elections.

In a statement on Monday, Buhari appealed for calm, adding that “no efforts will be spared to bring the perpetrators to justice, and prevent a recurrence.”

Already, security authorities have imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in central Plateau state after the fighting.
