Following the postponement of the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) on Monday met to deliberate on the commission's decision.

At the meeting are President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, serving and former state governors, among others.

State governors at the meeting included that of Zamfara, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Jigawa, Borno, Bauchi, Kebbi, Niger, Lagos and Kaduna States.

Also in attendance were the Senate leader, Ahmad Lawan, senators, Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF), Boss Mustapha, ministers, among others.

The meeting, which began a few minutes after 11am is being held at the national secretariat of the party as opposed to its usual venue, the Presidential Villa.

The party would use the meeting to explore the window provided by the postponement of the polls to review the party’s strategies for winning the elections.

The meeting will also deliberate on the party’s fate in Zamfara and Rivers state where its participation in the elections has been a subject of legal gymnastics.

The National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, in his opening remarks said the party is saddened with the postponement of the election.

He described the situation as show of shame and disgrace to the country.
