The Minister of state for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu has finally gotten the attention of the his boss, the Minister of Petroleum, Muhammadu Buhari.

The president will meet with him on Thursday behind closed door.

It will be Kachikwu's first private audience with the president since he return from his medical vacation in the UK.

Of course, the meeting between the duo will be centered around Kachikwu's leaked memo.

Let's hope the issues raised will be discussed and not a witch-hunt for who leaked the letter.

In the letter, the Minister accused the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru, of insubordination, and creating a culture of fear in the corporation.

Kachikwu had written the letter after being unable to secure an appointment to see the President despite very many attempts.

The President  according to sources will have a fact-finding session with Kachikwu on some of the claims in his August 30 memo.

Kachikwu during the meeting will have the opportunity to explain what went wrong in the NNPC and the insubordination of the GMD.

It was gathered that the President and cabinet members were shocked over the memo.
