The initial information across the media was that some parts of Ikeja would be closed to traffic due to the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Lagos on Thursday.

But the Police in the early hours of the day countered this info in a short message from the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti.

“The Lagos State Police Command wishes to advise members of the public to go about their lawful business as all routes are open to both human and vehicular traffic.

“The Command hereby assures Lagosians of adequate security and easy flow of traffic during and after the visit of Mr. President,” he stated.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to lay a foundation stone for the $1.5 billion Lekki Deep Seaport and also attend a colloquium marking the 66th birthday of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at Victoria Island.
