JUST IN: 8 Feared Dead Following Herdsmen Attack In Adamawa
No fewer than 8 persons have been reportedly killed in an ambush by suspected herdsmen on Kangling village in Adamawa State.
The Acting Chairman of Girei Local Government Council, Vincent Pasari confirmed the attack which took place yesterday evening at about 5.30 pm to Bounce News.
According to him, the attackers ambushed and opened fire on villagers who were conveying the corpse of a woman who was earlier killed by suspended Fulani marauders on her farm.
He explained that the relatives of the deceased woman were heading to the State Police Command before they were ambushed.
However, local sources claim that 8 deaths were recorded at the scene of the ambush.
Effort to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa state Command, SP Othman Abubakar to confirm the incident was not fruitful as his cell phone was switched off.
The military have been deployed to the area to prevent an escalation of the situation.
