No fewer than 3 people have been killed, and several others injured in the Ejigbo area of Lagos following a clash between men of the Nigerian Police force and area boys.

Our Bounce News correspondent who was at the scene of the clash reports that a fight broke out after a policewoman hit and killed a resident with her car yesterday, October 4th.

The body was said to have been detained in the police station till this morning, angering the residents to take the law into their hands.

Reports say those killed were shot by the police, even as the injured have been taken to the hospital.

Calm has however returned to the area as there is serious police presence while many shops in the area remain locked. Residents were also seen outside their homes discussing the incident.

Meanwhile, Bounce News contacted the DPO Ejigbo, Mr Rabiu to confirm the incident.

Rabiu, who was apparently under pressure when reached described the fracas as highly avoidable while avoiding comment on the cause.

"That is exactly true" he said of the incident.

"It was just a minor issue that happened. I don't know what is wrong with these guys" promising to ensure that the situation is brought under control."
