The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu is angry with journalists and he is not hiding that fact.

But his anger against the media appears to have put him in more trouble over his decision to sack some correspondents from his press crew.

He had on Monday instructed some of the state house reporters to desist from covering the state government's activities and accessing it's facilities.

Affected stations include AIT, Channels TV and Core TV.

According to the state Commissioner for information and Orientation, Yemi Olowolabi, the affected stations have not been writing favourable reports about the government.

"They are called dedicated station and they are expected to propagate the vision and activities of the government because we pay them quarterly.

"But to my surprise, these stations have never seen anything good about this government from the beginning of this year. All we get from them are negative stories.

"And most of the times, their reporters sit in the office from morning till night doing nothing other than drinking bear, gambling and blackmailing." He said.

Some of the reporters who spoke in confidence disclosed that the state government has always been unhappy with them for not regularly using their stories.

"Are we the only reporters in the press crew? Why were we singled out for eviction if not that there is an underlined connotation to their action?

"Their allegation against us is baseless. Are we that irresponsible to be drinking and gambling in the office of the governor? It is just a way of strengthening the reason for their action.

"They can only evict us from the Governor's office but can never stop us from doing our job within the state, and with this development, the battle line has just been drawn."

Other correspondents who were not affected by the decision also expressed their grievances, noting that they have not been fairly treated by the government.

The affected journalists have since moved out of the apartment rented for them by the state government.
