A woman has killed her husband over her suspicion that he was dating another woman.

Folashade Bashira Idoko, an auxiliary nurse had on several occasions accused her husband, Lawrence Ameh Idoko, a pipeline engineer, of infidelity.

On the day of the murder, Idoko who was a staff of Greater Inspection and Industrial Services, Sango-Otta, Ogun State, had gone for an official assignment to Ikorodu in Lagos.

On his return, the wife accused him of having an extra-marital affairs and one thing led to the other and he was stabbed on his leg by the wife with a knife and left to bleed.

The cry of their 3-year-old son attracted other tenants, who entered their apartment and met the man bleeding heavily.

The incident occurred on Sunday at Kosoko Street in Ayetoro, Oto-Awori Local Government Area of Lagos State.

He reportedly died an hour after he was rushed to New Ayetoro Medical Centre, Ijanikin, Lagos, for urgent medical attention.

Folashade, who is being detained at Ijanikin police station in Lagos told the police that her late husband mistakenly fell on the knife she was holding.

But, Gani Akanni, landlord to the deceased said he was not happy about the incident and disclosed that there was a time he issued a quit notice to the couple when their fighting was becoming unbearable.

His words: “There was a time I took the woman to the police station because she vandalized my property after I locked up the tenants’ rooms for defaulting in payment of Lagos Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) bills.

“She went ahead to break the door. It is unfortunate because the husband is such a quiet and peaceful man.”
