The Chief Imam of the State House Mosque, Sheik Abdulwaheed Sulaiman, has called on Muslims and Christians to unite as brothers and sisters given the common Abrahamic origin of their religions.

The Chief Imam made the call in his Friday sermon with Buhari, some members of the National Assembly and ministers present.

He stressed the need for unity to reign across the nation, the two major religions must share kindness and hospitality.

“We all belong to God and to Him we will be going back,’’ he said.

Suleiman also urged all Nigerians to continue to support the administration of President Buhari “as it fights corruption and insecurity in the land, at the same time seeking economic recovery and prosperity for all’’.

According to him, it is duty bound on Muslims to follow the path of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) as defined in the Qur’an.

Governor El-Rufa’i of Kaduna state and Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state were also in attendance.
